Great New Covers For a Classic Twenty Year Old SF ‘Cantos’

I love book covers. I am always fascinated and frustrated that European covers generally look so much better than the US versions. I Came upon a thread from a Polish SF fan who shared some classic SF with new Polish covers. The ones that really struck me were for Dan Simmons masterpiece the Hugo and Locus winner Hyperion.

Here’s the book as it still appears in the US.


And here’s the 20th Anniversary Polish cover.


I love the series and yeah, the Shrike looking down onto the Yggdrasil is still cool, but honestly how can you not love the stylized Shrike and the shadows of the pilgrims radiating from it? (Click pict above to embiggen)
